The Art of Babette Wagenvoort
The term microexpression denotes a brief facial expression that lasts less than a quarter of a second. They often occur involuntarily, and can reveal emotions not deliberately expressed. Babette tries to reveal these emotions through drawing.
Next to her drawing practice Babette works in animation, illustration, writing and public art.
Babette has exhibited her work both in The Netherlands and the United Kingdom and is at the moment looking for a good gallery and/or exhibiting opportunity in the United States (partly so that she can visit her best friend in New York...).
Babette received her Masters Degree from the Royal College of Art in London in 2000. She has worked both as an artist-organiser and tutor for Academies of Art & Design in several countries. She now lives and works in The Hague, The Netherlands.
